This was a great 16 day tour.  The first half was the classical ruins land portion, and the second half was 3 Greek islands, turquoise seas and sandy beaches.  The first half was fast paced and educational with lots of beautiful ancient Greek ruins, the second half was leisurely paced with ferry rides and first class hotels.

  This tour was unusual as 12 people cancelled at the last minute, so only 16 of us toured together.  Tour companies are not lying when they say small groups are better.  Everything, from boarding the bus, checking into a hotel and following and hearing a local guide was simpler and quicker.

  This Cosmos tour was called "Jewels of Greece & the Cycladic Islands."  The hotels and food were unusually good.  The first class hotels on the Greek islands were great!  When I learned the name of the first hotel on the tour was the Hotel Poseidon, I found it on the net and booked two extra days prior to my tour, for 18 days total. 

  We traveled about 7 weeks prior to the 2004 Olympics.  While there was lots of construction going on around us, there were no related problems.  The new roads, museums and subway stations were wonderful.  The smog and traffic were way down from our first visit 7 years ago.
