July 2006 Kim and I returned to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park again this summer. It seems like we return every 3 years or so to enjoy the Old Faithful Inn, the largest log structure in the world. We invited Kim's mom, Sunnie, to travel with us this trip. We drove to the Tetons on the first day, and stayed in a nice log cabin in the Colter Bay area in the northern part of Grand Teton Park. We decided to go on a float trip with a lunch cookout the next day. The weather was perfect and the float was great. The next day we made a large loop visiting Jackson Hole, the Grand Teton brewing company, the upper and lower Mesa Falls, and the Grizzly and Wolf Habitat in West Yellowstone before arriving at the Old Faithful Inn. We enjoyed 5 nights at the Inn, and Yellowstone, exploring and seeing all the sites and geothermal areas. One day at Heyden Flats we saw over 600 buffalo. The scenery, animal sightings, geothermals, Old Faithful Inn, explorings, food and weather were all just about perfect this year.
